Why there's no character limit
Free text-to-speech sites usually cap you at a few thousand characters because they pay for every second of audio their servers make. Bookvox makes speech in your own browser, either with your device's built-in voices or with studio voices that run on your device, so a short email and a 300-page manuscript cost the same: nothing.

Download MP3
Turn any text into an MP3 with a studio voice: Download MP3 in the player saves the current section or the whole thing. Speed and voice are built into the file.
Questions
How much text can I paste?
As much as you like. Very long text is split into parts of about 3,000 words so it's easy to navigate.
Which voices sound most natural?
Studio voices sound the same on every device. Among instant voices, look for names with “Natural”, “Neural”, “Enhanced” or “Premium”. Edge, Safari and Android include some excellent ones.
Can I use the audio commercially?
Studio voices come from the Kokoro-82M model, released under the Apache 2.0 license, and Bookvox adds no restrictions. You need the rights to the text itself.
Does it work offline?
The page needs a connection to load. Instant voices can work offline if your device's voices are installed locally.
